Benedict Simlinger is an experienced consultant in the field of information security, communication networks and system availability. He has practical experience in the design, implementation and, in particular, protection of industrial systems, which he can contribute to tenders, projects or operational issues at the appropriate level.
After completing his studies in BSc Electrical Engineering and MSc in Robotics and working for several years in hardware- and software development, he has been working as a consultant since 2020. His expertise is used both by companies in the private sector, like logistics, as well as in the public sector, like in energy supply, transportation, civil protection and defense.
In addition to his consulting activities, he is a lecturer at the Bern University of Applied Sciences and gives lectures, seminars and training courses on machine learning, cyber security and the OT-specific protocol OPC UA.
His areas of expertise are:
- Information security according to ISO 27001
- Cyber security for industrial plants (OT) according to IEC 62443
- Design and development of communication networks and interfaces
- Support for migration and development projects for OPC UA communication
- Independent feasibility and preliminary studies on the use of machine learning
